A specific style of oak barrel  traditionally used in the Bordeaux region of France and its use in growing in popularity worldwide. Typically consists of space inside of 225 liters, but the term has been used to describe wood of new oak casks of almost any size. An expensive addition to wine production however, can add significant flavor and aroma compounds in wine.
